Type of a scam Healthcare/Medicaid/Medicare
Daily calls from both numbers. When I answered the caller stated that he is calling on behalf of Medicare to provide me with medical braces for my back pain at no cost. I had recently been to a new spinal neurosurgeon and initially thought the surgeon may have put a request in for an immobilizing brace on my behalf and this was a medicare agent needing to verify info. He already had my full name, address, last 4 of my social and Medicare number. The call didn’t seem quite right to me so before I verified any information I asked what doctor had submitted the request. He stammered for a moment then went on to say his company was contracted by Medicare to provide Medicare beneficiaries with pain relieving braces. They would be delivered in a few days, for my security he just needed me to verify my date of birth, social security number and address where I would be receiving the braces to make sure I was the correct person. I told him that I don’t give that information out over the phone and If he gave me a contact number I would call him back after I checked with Medicare then he hung up.
