Called on phone to renew my windows security which I don’t have. Stated 299.99 would be taken from my account if I didn’t call back on 8774675226. I was unaware of taking this out. Message was left for me to return the call. Very disturbing and intimidating.

Received a call on my cell phone (a few minutes ago 07/19/2018 11am) from 760/314-3183. It was an automated, female voice, foreign accent, very bad audio, hard to understand. She said something about a refund due me.

I called that number from my home phone, and spoke to a man with a very heavy accent (maybe from India?). After asking for many repeats, I finally understood the company name, "WindowsSupport.com". I told him I did not have any Windows computers, just Apple. He said they support any computer. Then I finally understood that he claimed I paid $250. in 2016/09 for Norton AntiVirus. But that company is closing so they want to refund my money. I told him I was suspicious; this didn’t sound legitimate and I would not give him any information until I verified this. He said something about the website not being available. He said he just wanted my name, address, phone number. I said no and hung up.

I then checked their website which said it was "under construction by David McCallum" for sharing experiences with windows-based computers.

I don’t know their purpose, but I’m sure they are not legitimate.

Man phones and tells me that something is wrong with my windows set-up and to go to my machine. I ask him where he is from and he again says, take your time, go to your machine. I again ask where he is from and he tells me Windows Support. I asked for the phone number and he gives me 1-888-236-8794. I told him I have to check out this number because I had just had computer repaired locally and he tells me that this has nothing to do with that repair. I tell him I have to call him back and he gives me the number 1-888-326-9978. I have been keeping a log and that number has come up before several times, I just put up with it and didn’t report it before but this time I am because it is horrible to put up with something like this constantly, he has called at least 14 times and I am getting fed up with it.

The scammer called and said that they were going to shut down my desktop computer if I didn’t give them my credit card information over the phone. They wanted me to go to a website and download a application that would keep my computer working. They said they were out of Albany,NY. They said if I didn’t pay, I would be taken to prison by local authorities.

I talked to # 8558748333 to a Paul, Charlie and the very rude Mathew. I found out they were located in New York. They ask me if I was a senior and that I could pay if I wanted it unlocked!

My mom was checking something on Thanksgiving morning. Then a popup dialogue box appeared, with the phrase "support.windows."something at the top and a number to call to remove the malicious software "they had found." So we called. They remote accessed in, said that there were x-number of hackers on our network and that there were thousands of nonupdated security problems with the laptop. Then they said they could remove it for $250. I took over the call and said, just do it. They wanted my bank info, but I told them I could do a prepaid card, bc I dont have online banking. They did whatever. The next day they called and said that one of the programs was out of date, would refund $50 by refunding the first card cost but would need 2 $100 iTunes cards. There was a formal waiver for services rendered on the day of.

Received a phone call from a male telling me he was calling from "Windows Support". I respectfully asked the person to please remove me from their call list. His response was "no". I replied "excuse me". He went on to say that they only way he would have his company stop calling me was to pay a $100 fee. I explained that this wasn’t how things worked and that I would be reporting his company. I then hung up the phone.

Caller identifies themselves as Tech Support for Windows. Always has an Indian accent. Wants access to computer to help eliminate the possibility of malicious software that can occur when connected to the web. When a call was placed to the caller ID number, it was a sex talk site. Calls continued even after they were asked to place us on a no call list.

I have been getting the same phone call from the same number for about the last month or so. They tell me that they are from the technical support of Windows and asked me to hold down the windows key and the letter R and it is supposed to pull up a blue screen then a green screen and then go black. Of course I have not done this but it just is something I think other people should know about

Various numbers call my home phone constantly, stating they are calling from Windows Support, each time the caller ID is from a different number and different name. They are clearly calling from out of the country, their accents sound like they are calling from India. Every time they call we ask them to take us off their calling list and most times they just hang up on us. Today’s call came from the number noted above – 732.458.3634. I asked to speak to a manager and was told that the manager was too busy to speak to me. I asked that my number be removed from their calling list and the caller said that was not possible. When I tried to call the number back nobody answered. I am sick and tired of receiving these harassing phone calls at all hours. It is complete disrespectful, and a waste of everyone’s time. To date we have received at least 50 of these calls, if not more. I do not know if the scammer attempted to take money as we never let the calls get that far. Please help!

January 4, 2017 Our laptop computer was frozen up and a warning about being potentially compromised. The phone number listed was 888-516-7415. I called it; she explained our computer had the " Zeus virus". After she was navigating around in our computer showing our security systems were disabled and wanted our IP# which I never gave…..I became suspicious. It came down she wanted me to sign up for 3 yr security support $199.99, 5 yr for $399 or lifetime support for more money.

I hung up and called Microsoft support and they confirmed our laptop had been "Hacked". The MS tech I spoke with suggested changing our IP# and run a full scan report through Norton. Which we have done. PLEASE TAKE ACTION! This is CRIMINAL! I called the "Hacker’s" phone number back and told them I was going to contact BBB and the new president of the US was going to annihilate them. I will send Pres D.Trump next!

There was a message left on my home number saying that my microsoft windows license key is locked and has expired and to call a certain number and speak to a technician. I called this number and spoke to a gentlemen that will tell you that in order to fix the problem that you will need to get a iTunes gift card from CVS or Walgreen’s in a certain amount of money and call the technician back with the license key on the back of the iTunes card. This is a scam as he is not a technician and only wants the i tunes card. I called Best Buy where i purchased my computer and they also told me in no way would you ever need an iTunes to fix a computer issue. This fake technician i called him back to tell him he is a scam artist and he got very mad at me and started swearing. Do not believe what he says as he is not from Microsoft windows

They phoned me stating that my computer was sending out error codes, and I needed to clean and protect my computer from viruses and malware. They told me to check "event view", administrative view, custom view, which showed thousands of error message and warnings. They make you think your computer is on the verge of crashing, and to prevent that you need to buy their product. Several options from $399 to $1199 were offered.

I have had dozens of calls from these people, using different numbers, all saying the same thing.

I called and they said they were from Windows Support and for $299 they would help clean my computer and this was for a lifetime guarantee. They said they had a concrete wall and an express wall they could install. I told them I was not interested. They then offered me this protection for 1 yr for $149. Again I refused. I did not pay them and now they have locked me out of my computer.
