Type of a scam Fake Check/Money Order
I received an email offering to make me a secret shopper. I apparently inadvertently signed up (I was very tired when I got said email) and soon received a text to the effect of ‘respond if you’re ready for your first secret shopping assignment’. Upon inquiring if this was legitimate, I realized that I had just given them permission to give me an assignment. I then was sent a check in the mail for $998 and was told to deposit it into my bank account and spend most of it on Ebay gift cards. Luckily I recognized that it was a scam and I threw it away.
