Type of a scam Employment
Kent Johnson allegedly of YMCA contacted me to set up an online interview for an employment opportunity for an executive admin position with an international company called, Strike Energy. It was indicated that he was referred by Workforce Development Co. I met with Victoria Williams of Strike Energy online and corresponded with her at [email protected] I was told I will be a contract employee, paid weekly and they will be shipping the office equipment to Hawaii. Since I did not receive the equipment, I started questioning. They wanted my bank information for direct deposit. However, I did not feel comfortable providing, so they send me a digital cashier’s check for me to print. I was to deposit it at ATM and withdraw cash. I did not. Instead, I had my bank place the longest hold on the check and deposited it in person and let them know about the situation surrounding the check. The check belonged to a company who had no idea about the check issued to me.Â
