Type of a scam Online Purchase
The problem started when I cancelled an order I placed for an item (a winter sweater to be exact) from the ROMWE website on February 12th of this year. The said order No: RWBPL29781 was cancelled simply because I had purchased the incorrect sweater size and wanted a full refund ($28.98) as I thought this would allow me the opportunity to reorder the correct size. As you’ll know, this company is based in China and does not provide a customer service contact number to international customers, the only way to communicate with them is through their ticket system or their online chat “support.” The first presales rep I spoke to about my issue informed me that I would be getting the refund back to my bank card within 3-5 business days. After waiting one week, I checked my bank card only to find that I did not receive the refund as promised. I then return to their online chat support to seek further assistance, and was told by another presales rep who called herself “Hailey” that I needed to wait 7-15 business days more. If you view this company’s website, their refund policy clearly states that refunds are usually processed within 7 business days. Feeling extremely burdened and frustrated, I decided to follow “Hailey’s” advice and I waited an additional two weeks. After two weeks of waiting, I checked my bank card again, and still no refund. I return to their online chat support for the third time to inquire about my refund; only this time, I spoke to a presales rep named “Jasmine” who told me that I needed to wait 10-20 business days. At this point, I had a pretty good idea that I was being scammed. I’ve been visiting this company’s website, almost daily, submitting tickets, yet I get the same nonsense response from the same reps who say, “Please kindly wait, our manager will get back to you, right now there is on manager here.” I eventually contacted the bank that distributes my bank card to inquire about this fake third party reference number that ROMWE provided me: (74547067044030794864693). My bank basically said that this company gipped me for my money and that the reference number listed here is useless. When I threatened to expose them by submitting negative reviews about their company online, they banned me from their online chat support service. It’s safe to say that this company has in fact scammed me, and stolen the little money that I had.
