Type of a scam Phishing
I got an email purporting to be from Apple showing a receipt number of purchase of a VPN app that I didn’t do. When clicking on the receipt number, it redirected me to another page asking me if I wanted to cancel the subscription. I clicked CANCEL NOW and was then redirected to another page requiring all of my personal information, name, address, birth date, social security number, banking debit card number. I entered all the information, clicked next and it said my card was declined, which startled me, because I had clicked Cancel! I then called Apple and was informed that it was a phishing email. I forwarded the email to [email protected] I then called my bank and canceled my debit card, then had to call all 4 credit reporting agencies to put a freeze on my credit. What a hassle. When I googled Privax LTD, there was an entry that said that AVG had purchased the company. BE AWARE AND BEWARE OF THIS PURPORTING TO BE A RECEIPT FOR A PURCHASE!
