Type of a scam Fake Check/Money Order
Got a message that a Facebook friend had won $200,000. It said she noticed I was also on the list of winners. Her picture was used. Noticed later the acct had just been set up in August. Corresponded, thinking it was her, & asked how to collect. Return message said to text “I want to claim my winnings” to 202-602-2317. Which I did. Then got a text back asking for my email addresses which I gave them: *** and *** They texted back that I had won $100,000. Please send mailing address & birth date. I then looked on-line & found this is an old Facebook scam & my friend’s picture & acct had probably been hacked, or they just used her picture & created a new account under her name (*** ***). I don’t want to tell her on FB about this or they will be tipped off, & I have no other way to reach her. They again encouraged me by text to provide the info requested so they can send the money right away or I might risk losing it. So I still have text messages on Phone & Messenger messages from “***”.

Saw that a friend got a lot of money through this business on Facebook, and looked into it. They asked me to send me $950 for tax and fees through moneygram or walmart to send it to Willie Green.

I was told I won $100,000 and they asked for my name, address, country and DOB. It was all done by text and then I was told I had to pay a 1% tax amount of $1,000. Their phone number is 678-961-3244 and they were supposedly in Atlanta, Georgia. I have an old friend who said she got her money by UPS–in cash! I stopped texting them when I was told about the tax. I haven’t yet contacted my friend to see if she paid the "tax" but she is getting up in years and has had medical issues for decades–like Judge Judy said "if it seems too good to be true it probably is"
