Type of a scam Fake Check/Money Order
I was contacted by text about a Craigslist item valued at 250.00. I was told money would be sent by mail and a few days later that the amount would be more than the cost of the item. I became suspicious when the person said they had a carrier who would arrange the shipping of the item. The biggest tip-off was when the check came for 2200.00. I suppose the next step would be for me to send back the change. I’m sure the check would bounce.
