Type of a scam Tech Support
Like the article posted on https://www.bbb.org/article/news-releases/19674-scam-alert-ip-address-scam-uses-…⇄ my elderly father experienced the same thing. However, he did not realize it was a scam. He allowed remote access into his computer and he provided his credit card information. I am trying to rectify the situation now for him. I will be filing a police report, and reporting identity theft. We also have canceled his credit cards. And I will be taking his laptop in for reconstruction.
