Type of a scam Tech Support
I received a call from a man from Micro Tech Squad who advised me that due to unfortunate circumstances, the company is required to refund customer charges for services. I had this company install virus software on my computer for a total charge of $149.99 in 2015. The man indicated that in order to receive the refunded amount, the ScamPulse.com was only going to issue refund checks where charges totaled at least $1000.00 and that if I paid his company $850.00, he would issue a check to me that would arrive the next day for the total amount of $1000.00 covering the $149.99 + the $850.00. I told him this was ridiculous and that the ScamPulse.com would not require this. He said I was obviously confused and I should contact the ScamPulse.com to verify this and that he would call me back 10 minutes later which of course he didn’t. I contacted the Oakland, CA ScamPulse.com office and they advised I submit this information via Scam Tracker.
