Type of a scam Online Purchase

Our family was prepared to purchase a puppy and reached out to the above mentioned scammer. They seemed to have a legitimate website and ‘contract’, we were forgiving that their English grammar wasn’t typical. They sent me an application, more pictures and videos of the puppy we intended to purchase. We made the purchase via cash app and zelle, and they said they would ship the puppy. We got an invoice from the ‘pet courier’, which we had not agreed to use, and said an additional 98% refundable insurance deposit was due. I researched the pet courier company to find out that it was bogus. The same poor English grammar was used in the pet courier contract as the emails back and forth. We immediately requested an investigation through our bank to either stop payment or to get our money back. I emailed the scammer informing them we would be issuing a stop payment/refund and haven’t heard anything back from the otherwise very responsive individual.
