Type of a scam Online Purchase
Found a too-good-to-be-true price on a certain TV I was looking to purchase and got stupid. The original ad that came up with my Goodle search for the TV was from a company called LiHome, but when I actually clicked on putting the TV in my cart, it sent me to a site called Sport Central in Maud, OK. I checked out their website and it was very professional, all seemed legit, so went ahead with the purchase. At the payment stage a popup came up from Authorize.net, a PayPal type company whose website I also checked and it seemed legit…but frighteningly, it already had my card number! I assumed it was because I got there through Google and I know Google has that info, so I proceeded. I got an email with an order number and all seemed still professional, but I was wary and emailed immediately asking them to hold the order until I talked to them by phone next morning (it was very late night). I called next morning…another red flag, phone was in Oregon and I got voicemail for a person named Abigail something, not a business. I tried 3 times and have never gotten a person, nor have I received an answer to my many emails. I checked Google map and the address is a building in a large field in OK. Cancelled my card today although nothing has yet been charged to it. BEWARE!
