Received e-mail at my companies e-mail account stating that my reported income was flagged for review due to a document processing error and that my case has been forwarded to the IRS Taxpayer Advocate Service for resolution assistance. The e-mail also included an account number stating and a link to review reported income and to resubmit w2. The links address was to www.firstfedtrust.com/irs. I look up scam on the IRS website. The website described the e-mail word for word and suggested I forward the e-mail to [email protected], not to click on the links and delete the e-mail. I followed the suggestions.
