Type of a scam Advance Fee Loan
I received 1 phone call on March 21, 2018 at 11:28am from a the caller id stated the number came in from Dallas, Texas. The lady said that she was from Upstart Loans. She stated I had been approved for a $2,500.00 which I had spent the morning looking for a loan. She told me my name and my email address. Because I have been scammed twice I kindly asked her the amount I was approved for. She then said if I wanted to adjust that it could be increase. I asked her to email me the Terms and Agreement for me to look over and I would call back if I was interested. I asked her the companies name again to make sure I had it clear writing down. I also asked her the website address so I could inspect the site. She told me www.upstart.com when will later prove to be the actual site of Upstart Loans. I went and got on the computer and brought up three internet tabs the email with the terms, www.upstart.com, and the BBB website. I then noticed that the actually real Upstart Loans phone number was different from the Texas number. I noticed that Upstart Loans in actually Located in California. Then I called Upstart to see if it was a real loan and it was not so I gave them the scammers information in full and forwarded the copies of the loan Terms and agreement.
