Type of a scam Online Purchase
Looking to purchase a certain boat and found it advertised in Oregon. I emailed the owner and she came back with a story that her husband had died a month ago of a heart attack and she had moved from Portland to Springfield, Missouri and she had taken the boat there. I wanted to see the boat but she said I will have to pay for the boat and she will have it shipped at no cost to me in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. She made the shipping arrangements very quickly with a company called DVV Shippers. In the contract, I would have to pay for the boat and the owner will look after the shipping. Upon calling the shipping company to find out who deals with the customs and declaration forms, they said they will look after all of that at the owner’s expense. It seemed to be too good to be true so I went online and found an attached website called "Who Called Us" and read many stories of people who had been scammed with the same story about the widower but they had paid and not received what they paid for.
