I have been receiving a voice mail on my cell phone from four different numbers that states I have a returned item from my bank, a wage garnishment is going to start in 24 hours, call 866-218-3402 to settle this legal matter. The phone numbers calling are 678-317-3285 334-730-4716 205-238-6303 and 323-207-7888. They called my cell all day yesterday, so I decided to answer the call. At the end of the recorded message you are directed to press 1 to settle this legal matter now. I pressed 1, a guy name "Nick" picked up. He then ask if I had internet access either via computer or smart phone, I said yes computer. He gave me a web site to go to, paydatacheck.com. At the login in screen he told me to put in my last name as my login id and he gave me an account number to enter in. Once logged in, he directed me to view an image of a check he was collecting on. He said the check was returned from my bank NSF, he wanted the check amount $39.89 a $70.00 NSF fee and a $100 collection fee. The check was mine written to Winn Dixie January 11, 2000. It was not a returned check. I ask to speak to a supervisor and he hung up on me. I had previously searched the numbers that were calling my cell, all the comments on whitepages.com indicated it was a scam. One common factor I noticed is they were trying to collect on checks written to Winn Dixie up to 20 years ago from multiple people.
