Type of a scam Travel/Vacations
I have been contacted 3 times in the last three months. I was trying to contact a BCCA telephone number and a message came on about answering 3 survey questions to do with going on holidays. I answered these questions thinking it was a BCCA survey and ended up being passed to three different people. The first one said I had won a free cruise and it ended up that it would cost 2 thousand dollars for this free cruise that you could take any time in the next 2 years. They mentioned that the details would be mentioned in an email. When this confirmation did not arrive, I soon realized that it was a scam. It happened again for the second time that this message came on about answering 3 survey questions just after I had hung up from a telephone call. I hung up recognising that this was the same scam and then 2 days ago after calling a 1 800 number and not reaching that No the survey 3 questions came on. The first time that it happened I called my telephone Co., Shaw and told them what had transpired and asked if it was possible that my telephone modem was hacked and they said no. This can not be correct information from Shaw, as I do believe they have in fact hacked the telephone modem 3 times.
I have also had the email scam 2 times where they say it is your bank security that is warning you of a scam,
