Type of a scam Credit Cards
Husband and wife team:
They booked a full spa day with us back in November 2018. We did it all; massage, facials, body treatments, manicures and pedicures. During that time the husband had to take multiple "smoke breaks".
I remember the spa providers asking-out of concern, what to do about the time crunch that was increasingly becoming a problem with all his "smoke breaks". Because we had other appointments booked after their appointments, I said to stay on schedule. We can’t disrupt other guest’s appointments to accommodate his smoke breaks. So, we carried on…
Upon check out, none of the providers were tipped. I felt devastated for them since I know my providers give amazing services and deserve to be tipped. But…We all bounced back quickly, moving onto the rest of our day.
A few weeks later I had an email that these cusotmers were disputing their credit card charges.
Why? Well, they claimed they did not received the services. FALSE. I sent in all the documents needed to validate the charges and the credit card company gave us the funds back quickly!
A few more weeks went by…another charge-back dispute came in from the same people – but with a different amount. It seems they were trying to scam the credit card company too. Same documents were provided and the funds were reward to Blooming Moon – once again.
A few weeks later the husband called the spa and complained about his services to the front desk. She asked him to email me (the owner) and he never did. He claimed he did, but I never had any emails from either of them.
At this point I refused to have any conversation that isn’t in writing with these folks.
The following week they both decided to write a 1 star review on Yelp with all sorts of false info.
Small Businesses BEWARE!!!! These customers will rack up high bills and then ask for charge-backs from their credit card company. They hit small businesses hoping we won’t notice. Be careful!!!
