Andores Digital

Cassandra – Jun 11, 2020

I received an unsolicited email yesterday for a position as an Executive Manager working remotely for an IT company called Andores Digital (Andores.ca). Note this made me very suspicious. I have been contacted via email from recruiters etc who have researched my information on Indeed.ca or LinkedIn. There is usually a phone or video interview before the recruiter makes a decision about forwarding my resume on to their client.

In this case, I was quite surprised to be solicited for a position in the IT industry when my experience is in Operations and supply chain management. I asked for a job description and was provided with one shortly after. As I was still suspicious, I sent an email back with some questions asking:

On what basis was your decision made to contact me as a potential candidate for this position?

If there were any upfront costs

If there was any travelling required

They responded with a job offer (see below). This made me very suspicious. I instantly passed on the opportunity as a result. The reason the I am bringing this up here is I want to find if this is a scam or legit from other people in the community that have more experience with these type of email solicitations for work to work remotely. People are working remotely more now with the pandemic and I think this will become more or less the new norm going forward.

I am currently unemployed and seeking work but things have dried up during the pandemic. My background is 20+ years in operations and supply chain management (ie purchasing, planning, scheduling, logistics etc.) mostly in automotive and specialty chemical. Small stints in aftermarket disc brake pads, residential construction and the waterworks industries.

The community’s help in this matter is greatly appreciated

Type of a scam Employment

I applied on indeed.ca for a company named McConnell Transport LTD for a receptionist position. I received an email from indeed regarding that I am qualified for the position of executive manager at Andores Digital. The hiring manager – Rebecca Quinn (soccer player name of canada fc) offered an employment agreement on the spot without an interview. She claimed that my phone interview would be conducted on the first day of employment. She asked for my signature, and personal info. I checked the site adores.ca and found a typo that I figured was copied from todevto.com I searched the site and found out that this was also a scam.

I also received the same email from Rebecca Quinn so I started looking for any scam issues and found this post. Kindly suggest what to do? Did you reject the offer? Did you get any further mails from the company?
