Type of a scam Employment
I received a spam message about a month ago from one of my LinkedIn contacts and disregarded it. It was a mystery shopper opportunity with Amusement Advantage. A couple of days ago, I received messages from two of my contacts who received an identical spam message from my LinkedIn profile.
Apparently "AA" has been used in scams before; I found this page on the company’s website: http://www.amusementadvantage.com/Shoppers.htm
The person gained access to my LinkedIn account and changed the email address so that I would not be able to log back in. (I have contacted LinkedIn to resolve the issue with them.) Below please find the email address that was used to hijack my LinkedIn account. I do not know if this is one of the culprits or some other poor person whose account was hacked.
I have attached a pdf of the email that I received as well as the forwarded email from one of my contacts. Although I have not lost any money per se, I am a consultant and losing my LinkedIn profile is a tremendous inconvenience to my ability to obtain work and is potentially damaging to my professional reputation. I have no way to know what this individual (or group) is getting up to using my profile and credentials!
Thank you in advance for your attention to this issue, and please do not hesitate to contact me if I may be of any further assistance.
