Type of a scam Fake Check/Money Order
I received an email about a virtual personal assistant position. I thought I might of applied for this online i.e indeed. My first assignment was to look up information on existing businesses for her to use at a conference. It said I was getting paid weekly of $300. I received a check for 1953
The next day asked me to withdraw 1000 and put it in account to register for a conference. My bank had a portion of the funds available Tuesday (1/10) and the rest Wednesday (1/11). Apparently, bank reversed the check because it was altered. I can’t believe this happened to me and I fell for it. Now my account is overdrawn an ungodly amount of 800 and I’m just completely at a lost.
