The person that placed a phone call to a resident living in a Long Term Continuing Care Retirement Community in Pittsboro, NC described himself as a "Senior Security Officer for Amazon". This person spoke with a foreign language and tried to obtain the resident’s Amazon account information by stating that he was following up on an order that the resident had placed. Luckily the resident had not ordered anything from Amazon in quite a while and could tell this was an attempt to steal her information. The scammer identified himself as "Mack Wilson" and had called from phone # (707)210-0049. As Director of Security for our CCRC, I followed up on this call by calling this number. The person who answered the phone did not answer as a representative from Amazon and refused to give me any information about his employment, Direct Supervisor, address of the company he worked for, or any other contact information whatsoever.
