I’m a contractor specializing in bathroom remodels. I got a text from this number saying he’s on his honeymoon but wants to give me money and keys to his house to remodel before he returns! Says he’s Paul. Actually the house is listed for sale and not by a Paul according to the realtor. The text is in odd sounding English. I don’t understand his plan to get my money but I assume it’s a Nigerian type scam.

Pop up message warns me that my computer is hacked, so I need to call 844#. I did. Indian accent guy, Paul guided me to be accessible from him. He went through my computer while talking about how my computer and other devices were at risk. After about an hour of warning, he gave me a price of buying the security. It was $499 for 1 computer for 3-5 years protection, 24/7 personal assistance. I told him we have 3, then he gave me $1500. He said this was the Microsoft Certified Technician, so it was very safe. He asked me to give my name, address, phone#(he already has it anyways), and email. At the end I told him that I wanted to think about it and asked his call back number and company name. He hesitated to gave me those, but he did anyways. I hang up without giving my info. I hope he didn’t steel my information. He did’t let me go easily. Then a couple hours later, 547#called me back, which I didn’t answer. No message was left. I checked this #, and found it’s the scam.

Gentleman claimed he was renting a space in 401 East 34th st New York, NY. How ever the photo when put in a reverse image search leads to Chicago listing the area code is also Chicago. He required the deposit upfront n I refused.

My name is *** ***l. I’m getting calls from a "Paul" -phone number is 760 284 3390.
This person claims he works for the "Courts" and that I owe Income Taxes from 2009- 2012.
He says he needs "cash" in the amount of $ 1,589.33 or I will be locked up for 6 months!!
My employer tried to speak with this person but they hung up. Is this a scam???
