Type of a scam Online Purchase
We were purchasing a puppy from Bista Pugs online (also a scam filed in another claim). After purchase of the puppy, we were contacted by the Pet Transport Services for airline transport of the puppy. During the initial contact, we received an email and a phone call indicating that they needed a payment to support insurance and documentation for the dog and that these funds would be returned upon successful delivery of the puppy. We reluctantly made the payment with Zelle in hopes that the transaction was legitimate and that the puppy would be delivered safely. Later, when the puppy was supposed to be making the connecting flight, we received a second email and phone call indicating that the puppy was quarantined and that we needed to make a second payment to continue with the delivery. At that time we realize that the entire transaction was a scam. The Bista Pugs contact and the Pet Transport Services would no longer respond to contact.
