Type of a scam Online Purchase
I clicked on a free sample for a face cream on an article explaining that Wendy Mesley left CBC to be part of this company. The only charge was for shipping the 2 products and I gave me credit card info. I received an e-mail from the company saying that the product was shipping with no other terms or conditions. When I received the product I decided to check out the company website and there discovered that the trial was for 14 days only from date of shipping which was Dec 28 and if I didn’t call to cancel within 14 days of shipping I would be charged the full amount for the products. The package shipped on January 3 according to the Canada Post sticker. There was no indication on the site that I requested the sample, or on the e-mail the company sent me, or in the package sent advising of the 14-day trial and the consequences of not cancelling before that date. I contacted the company as soon as I realized what was going on and missed the cut-off date. I hadn’t opened the packages and offered to return them and was told there are no returns. I was charged on January 10 for both products in U.S. dollars and the charge was almost $400 Can. I have contacted my credit card company to see if they can do anything to cancel the charges and they are issuing a dispute but are unsure if anything else can be done. This is one massive scam.
