Type of a scam Fake Check/Money Order
They contacted me via LinkedIn about a consumer survey program to make a little extra money. I have done legit programs like this in the past. Then I got an email saying they were sending me a check for 1807.16 to cash it and go buy 3 Walmart gift cards for 500 each and answer a couple of questions about the venue and then take photos of the front and back of the cards. This immediately set alarms off for me as none of my other survey companies ever paid up front or asked for gift card purchases. Unfortunately I did give them my address in the sign up process before I figured this out. But didn’t give any other info.
