Type of a scam Tech Support

See ScamPulse.com web site on Tech Support Scams. Laptop screen intrusion by unknown source. Alarm audio bells and sirens and instruction to immediately call a Support phone number. I can’t unlock screen, silence the alarm or shutdown my computer. I call number and talk to a supposed "Microsoft" Agent. The voice is Asian sounding, later determined to originate in Bangkok, Thailand. They ask to be allowed access to my laptop and I stupidly allow. A screen appear with a long list of invasive software that must be cleaned. Sounds fishy! The want to remove software and encrypt my IP Address. I say OK. They say it would be $128.00 for one year of protection. I stupidly agree and give card info to caller. They say give them an hour or so to clean things up. I realized later it was scam and called the support number and cancelled my order because of what I learned on the ScamPulse.com site. I followed the ScamPulse.com recommended actions.
