Type of a scam Fake Check/Money Order

I was selling my car online on Craigslist. I received an email on August 4, 2020 from Jared Halterman from the email [email protected] wanting to buy the at the full asking price of $1,700. The next day, he said he would send a cashier’s check through 2-day priority mail. He said he had to add a shipper’s charge on the check so it would be a little more than the $1,700 asking price. This response was from a different email which was [email protected] I emailed the first email address he sent me regarding the status of the check and a Jim Rhodes responded asking if I received the check. I was suspicious at this point and emailed the johnfreeman email asking what was going on, who I was talking to, and to stop contacting me. Jared Halterman than responded from the email address [email protected] saying I was only talking to him and that the check was on its way; he also gave me a tracking number. The tracking number was coming from Texas. I believed I was being scammed. Today on August 13, 2020 I received the check and it is for the amount of $4,980.30 and is from California. The return address on the envelop is from Lowe’s Home Improvement in Dallas, TX. I don’t know what to do with the check now.
