Type of a scam Advance Fee Loan
I received multiple pieces of mail offering mortgage insurance protection and indicating an urgency to contact the number right away. The mail appeared to be sent by BB&T bank, but was not. I called the 800 number listed to request removal from the mailing list, but was met with computerized prompts instead of a human. I then started getting numerous calls from 561-422-4474 and finally answered. “Jermaine” said that I had been “referred” by BB&T, which I knew was untrue. I asked him to stop sending solicitations because I’m not interested in whatever service they are offering. After making the same statement several times in a row each time Jermaine tried to lure me in, he became hostile. I told him I would be reporting him to the Better Business Bureau and he began cursing me. I then hung up.
