Type of a scam Counterfeit Product
Under 103F degree heat, I shopped and found an air conditioner on a professionally looking and popular seller’s pngage called Woodmart. PayPal was one of the methods of payment on that Woodmart page, so I thought it was credible. I placed the order, but as soon as I received an order confirmation via email, doubts of the legitimacy of the site started to haunt me. First, email confirmation was from an individual, not the business name. Second, the website it guided you to was no longer Woodmart, but Molalu.com. When I opened the Molalu pngage (which seems to be down at the moment), it showed the company’s physical address in Van Nuys, Los Angeles area in CA. I immediately contacted PayPal, that after much evaluation of the case, denied my response. The UPS tracking number given for the item, shows the level of sophistication of the scam. There was never an item delivered (I was hope at the time it said it was delivered). When I called UPS I was told the address they had on file had nothing to do with my home address, even though my home address shows correctly on the order.
