I received an e-mail in the form of a letter, stating that my computer had a virus ,and that by calling the following pho ne number (855-664-2176 that I could get assistance in eliminating the virus at a cost of $599.99 in 2 installments. I gave the credit card information and they are now asking for the remainder of the money. I began having second thoughts when I realized that all the voices sounded the same and that I didn’t recognize the 855 Area Code, I Googled it and was told it was in Cambodia. I have 4 messages on my phone at the moment all saying that name is Victoria, none of the voices sound alike, they say they are in California. If Google is correct they are making false statements. I’ve had my credit cards cancelled, have called the FTC, was referred to Trans Union, whom I notified and called my local police department.
