Type of a scam Debt Collections
My Mother called me stating there were 2 plain clothed, armed men (with guns) at her door. They had just left but stated they were looking for me.
They said I owed money and they were looking for payment or I would be arrested. They said they were sent by a Steve London from the Wichita County Courthouse They gave her a number to call for me to pay.
I called the phone number 855-202-0950 and a lady answered and asked for case # which I gave her from what the men gave my mother, ***. She said I owed for a loan I took out with Advanced America back in 2016 for $1500. If I didn’t pay it, I would be arrested. I made arrangements to pay it back and set up a payment plan with my SSI credit card.
I called the Sheriff’s office directly and they said it was a scam. I then called my SSI Credit Card and they changed the number for me and gave me a new #. The scammers called me back and threatened me to pay. I just told them they were a scam and that i wasn’t going to pay.
