Type of a scam Business Email Compromise
Scammer emailed marketing manager to ask if she was busy that they had a task for her to do. Scammer was disguised as Executive Director (supervisor). Marketing Manager responded and said she could do the task. Scammer emailed back to say they needed google cards picked up right away and sent out soon. Executive Director (scammer) said was busy and would check completion of task later. Marketing manager suspected the validity of this request as it seemed unusual. Email address was inconsistent with true executive director email. Communication was terminated. Marketing manager reported exchange to her supervisor (Executive Director)
