we were searching for a Westie to adopt/purchase and came across the website westiehome.com. They had pictures of several westie puppies, the website is well set up and an elaborate "About" page. The puppies were being offered for $800 plus $1000 to ship, if needed. My daughter called the number 918-923-0381 and spoke to a couple of different people. Emails were responded to very quickly. They wanted us to ZELLE $400 to them to hold a certain puppy. I called the phone number myself – it rang many times but no one answered. Then a man with a thick accent called me right back but didn’t identify himself. I asked him where the puppies came from and he said they had been breeding for 13 years. I asked when the puppies were born and he said "they are 11 weeks old and there were never any health problems" with the parent dogs. I asked him to send me proof that the puppies exist as well as the breeder’s certifications. He said ‘fine’. I said ‘would you like my email address?’ He said ‘yeah text it to me’, which I did. I was suspicious so I started digging and found them listed on a Pet Scam website. I never received any emails from them. We were lucky we didn’t get sucked into sending them any money.
