Type of a scam Tech Support
We were trouble shooting our hp wireless printer and wanted to connect with hp tech support. Initial contact was a chat format found on the hp.com website. They asked permission to remotely access the computer when I mentioned there was no print on the pages. (Ink cartridges levels were fine). The tech immediately scanned and found an apparent hacker in our system preventing the files to transmit to the printer. That was not the initial concern, but they preyed upon emotions and very aggressively sold us their "services" to remove the hacker and provide a 7 tier firewall security to prevent future hackers on the system. It was an outrageous service package offered for lifetime support. They claim to be affiliates of hp, but the forceful tactics used should have alerted before reacting. That same day realizing we had been scammed, we tried to cancel the services with the manager (Johnson) and retrieve a refund. We have subsequently removed software installed, but they continue to contact us stating security breaches on our system and subscription updates required.
