Type of a scam Tech Support
was called by VOIP or VOlP (on my caller ID) @ 650-282-2091 telling me I had phoned for Tech support to help with my computer. I was having trouble with my computer so thought it was legit. He told me to type a word into the computer so I did and then he told me about the picture of the lady on the screen. Yes, there was a lady on my screen. Scared me. He wanted 199.99 to fix my computer if it was not still under warranty or 98.00 if it was still under warranty. I hung up disconnected my computer, bought a new computer and changed my email addresses. Also my password. I was having strange things going on with my computer. mouse would die, could not get my email. could not get on facebook. Not all at the same time, just random. I had not called anyone for tech support, but I did email them for it.
