Type of a scam Phishing
Guy responded to a for sale add I posted by text. Asked if it was still available and if I would take a check. Said he would wait for it to clear before sending someone to pick up the item. What gave it away was he was not interested in seeing the item or inspecting it before sending me a check. Just wanted my name and address to send and address the check.
