Two different numbers with the exact same message:
503-809-0370 and
503-563-0222.
The first text from both were pretty good, “Hey I am interested in the focus” then some questions about it. I replied with answers. The second message from both numbers were exactly the same, “ok im very interested, I sold my car last week. Can we meet on [specific day]? What time is best for you? Money isnt an issue we can go to my bank or I can arrange the cash. Just looking for something within the next 10 days”
Note: I left the punctuation as it was in the texts.
The first one I gave a specific block of time to meet. They ignored and gave me a completely different time, “Okay, I will be there at 4pm”
Then “Almost forgot to ask, can you send me the NWV papers?” I asked “What’s NWV” They responded, “Its the papers your able to pull up as the owner on nationwidevin .com , sorry I forgot to ask your name? Im Johnny
I told them I wasn’t going to pay for a VIN report and that the information is public so they can go to whatever reporting tool they want. He then accused me of being unreasonable to not give him the history of something I expect him to pay thousands of dollars for. I didn’t reply.
The second one was exactly the same I just didn’t reply after they asked for the NWV papers.
Recieved the same message about my car word for word as everyone above, claimed to be “John.” Wanted me to go to carhistoryservice.com. told him the site is listed as a scam and sent him a link to FTC about vehicle history scams. When he wrote back today I decided to Google his number and low and behold this is the first site I come to. Same number, same message, same scam.

Same as all the complaints from this phone number. My buddy got the same scam as well but stopped him from purchasing the website report.
I got the same as the other guy, did not feel right. Ran the number through google and wound up here
I received a text from 1-602-649-1699 about wanting to buy my car. Here’s the conversation:
Where area you in exactly? How is the body any dings or bumps? Any issues you’ve had with it?
Ok im very interested, I sold my car last week. Can we meet tomorrow? What time best for you? Money isnt an issue we can go to my bank or I can arrange the cash. Just looking for something within the next 10 days
Okay that works lets say 4 pm tomorrow. I will arrange a ride down. Almost forgot to ask, can you send me the DVC papers?

This person just did the same thing to me… I used the KBB site to run my VIN number so no issue with my privacy but he got pissed that I didn’t use his recommended site- I should of googled his number prior to all this BS. He used the name Lucas Hamilton and his email is [email protected]

I listed my car for sale on craigslist and had multiple people text me posing as a potential buyer. I was asked to run a paid VIN or Vehicle Title Report’ via a website link for VIN reports that are not approved by National Motor Vehicle Title Information System (NMVTIS).
This is the website they asked me to use: https://vininvestigator.com/
They used the name "Daniel" and this is their cell 323-348-1370
