Type of a scam Phishing
I am selling a car on craigslist. A buyer is adamant that I purchase this report so that he can give it to his loan officer. I offered up a Carfax that I purchased for the car. I entered in a random string of characters and it "successfully" pulled information on my car and prompted me to purchase a report. After a quick Google search, I found this was a fairly common scam and figured it was my duty to report the site and the individuals involved.
