My elderly father received a call from a company stating he took out a pay day loan and never paid it back and now the amount has almost doubled. This "arbitration company" was offering him an opportunity to pay half of what was owed or make installment payments. If he did not make a decision that day he would be summons to court to handle the matter and have to pay the full amount. They typed up a letter, as I requested documentation of the matter. I cannot find their business name or website anywhere. Some of the numbers do not work. They said I had to sign the document sent to me by email and send it back for their records and mines. I guess they are getting tired of me calling, so they claim they will issue a refund if I do not feel comfortable with the matter, but it will be placed in the hands of the court and my dad will have to pay the full amount due. I should have known better. Bank is investigating.
