Type of a scam Healthcare/Medicaid/Medicare

I just had a call from a man who said he was with Veteran Affairs. He had a foreign accent. He asked me if I had received my new Medicare card. I asked him why he wanted to know and what did it have to do with the Veteran Affairs. He just said he could help if I had not gotten it yet. I just hung up, sounded fishy to me. I called the ScamPulse.com to report it.

So they werw obviously not in the US but they called me from a local number where i live. So they were phising numbers. Basically, asked for 100$ donations and then i spoke to a guy who definitely did not have an American accent. Told me his name was james or something, whouldnt give out last name but gave a obviously fake "badge number" (0358) after i said id pay money (just to see what they asked me to do) he told me to type my credit card number when i was with a automated system. I just typed in a bunch of fake numbers till he picked back up and asked what the heck was going on. I then grilled him about how big of a piece of [censored] he and everyone else was who worked with him for trying to scam people. He tried to play dumb but when i started asking questions about how the VA really opperates he froze up then hung up, probably bevause he couldnt google that fast. Anyway piece of [censored] scammers, too bad i dont have their real number.

Customer asked for donation to help homeless veterans. They had a verifier confirm. I said "yes" I’d donate but did not give them any account information.

After hanging up I realized this was. "Yes" scam. Now I’m very concerned.

I received a phone call from a man 8pm sunday night pretending to be an employee with veteran’s affairs. He was taking donations for "the men and women who fight for our freedom" He said he could take a donation by credit card or he could take my address to send me a package. I asked for any type of legit business identification and he got very short with me and hung up. I just don’t want him to take advantage of some kind elderly person. His phone number is 769-972-3125 it showed up as a jackson number.
