Type of a scam Phishing
Have had two calls in two days from this number, they claim they are from Verizon but after the second called I clearly hear the male voice saying Herizon. Then he says he is on a recorded line and asked if I can “hear him well”. Both times I firmly and state “No”. The first call ended almost immediately, while the second call today I was asked a second time if I could “Hear Him well”. I firmly stated “No”. And the call ended, Please do not respond to this scam. They are trying to get callers/Victims to say yes. And they record this and use it to make purchases in your name. Using information they got fraudulently and can have huge financial loss. Older people are more likely to fall for this than the younger Generations. As we know more about the types of scams that are out there. Older people will fall victim to this scam because we all would answer “yes” without even thinking. Also I am not sure what group/type of scam this would be called. Because I am still not sure how they are using the “yes” responses. I have read online that this scam uses the victims voice to make purchases. But of what and how I have no idea. Just don’t answer any calls you do not know. And if it is a legit caller, they will leave you a voicemail message and you can call them back.
