Type of a scam Counterfeit Product

I started a new LLC and received a notice in the mail that my final step to registering my business with the state of Utah was to obtain a Certificate of Existence. My first red flag was that this certificate would come from the Utah Secretary of State. The state of Utah does not (to my knowledge) have a secretary of State. I called The Division of Corporations and Commercial Code. They informed that this letter was not from them and is a scam . Their office is keeping a list of all people who receive these letters. Apparently this company has been sending these misleading letters for years. According to the person I spoke with at the Division of Corporations, the state is planning to fine this company at some point. If you receive a "Certificate of Existence Request Form" please note it is a scam. If you want a certificate of existence (some businesses do want or need them) you can easily obtain one from the Utah Division of Corporations and Commercial Code (Utah.gov) for $12.00. You do not need to pay "Utah Certificate Service" $74.50 to do it for you!!
