Type of a scam Tax Collection
April 26, 2016 I received a harassing, awful scam by someone claiming they were from the US Treasury Department. He said his name was Officer Kevin Peterson (his dialect sounded like he was from India) badge no. 10026. Saying there was a warrant for my arrest because I owed taxes for 2011 and 2012. I made a miscalculation and owed federal taxes. He would not tell me the amount. He was so nasty, rude and threatening. My husband got on the phone and blasted him as well. They told him they were going to come over now and arrest me, throw me in jail, no lawyer will every be able to get me out for 7 months.
I then screamed that this was a scam and there was silence from them and completely disappeared, not saying one more word. We hung up.
I talked with my accountant. She said to report it. I attached what I wrote down as he spoke to me. Phone number they called from is 646-307-7868
