Someone created a face facebook account under my grandmother-in-laws name and then sent me a message on FB messenger. She told me about this grant I could apply for. She then told me to send a FB message to a person named Sam Kratzer.

Sam went on and on to tell me I qualified for this grant, up to $1.2M, depending on how much I can pay for the "processing fee." He wanted me to send $12,500 cash to Roselyn Williams. 9108 Elaine Court, Laurey, Maryland 20708. He advised I don’t require signature and to wrap the money in cellophane. Once I send the cash and it’s received, UPS would deliver to me $1.2M in cash. He also told me not to tell my family because past winners have been murdered by their family after receiving the winnings. OK….

I recieved a call that said the government is giving me free grant money of $9,000. They gave me a code and the phone # 202 596-1553. Apparently only 1500-1700 people are randomly chosen. There are three ways to collect the money. 1. They can put it on Your prepaid card. 2. They can Western Union this money or 3. Deposit into your bank account, with a tracking number and account number. I did call this number, and again was told the same information. After listening, I said, well I’m not comfortable giving my bank information. In a nasty tone the lady repeated the ways of getting this money. I said "you dont have to get nasty about it", that’s when she hung up on me. I think I would have felt like a [censored] going to W.U., expecting them to give me $9,000., I also think that if this were real, I would have been notified by mail, correct?

Gave me a confirmation number and phone number to call back did really pay attention but the call back number had the same area code.

Monday I got a friend request from someone I know. I accepted the request and then I was sent a text message saying he had gotten a government grant that he didn’t have to pay back and he thought I could get one too. I called the number he gave me and was told I also had a US government grant coming to me for $20,000 and that I need to pay $650 for processing and fees. I was told this by a Mark Kevin Thomas who was hard to understand and had a heavy accent and said he was a US Federal Worldwide agent. The name seemed funny to me, federal is not worldwide. He told me to go to Walmart or Walgreens and buy $650 in iTunes cards to cover the charges. I haven’t called him back.

On August 29, 2018, I receive a call from Bill Once. The scammer said his name is Kevin at ext. 201. He said i qualify for a gov grant of $9,700, and that i will not have to pay it back. I was excited because I want to start my own small business. He told me to call his senior account manager and gave me the number. I called and spoke to Jordan Green at ext. 177. Jordan said all I have to do is go to a Western Union to pick up the money right now and gave me this money tracking number: 0837506522 and this grant ID: WA8033. He said he will remain on the line while I drive to Amscot so he can help me make this transaction. When I got to Amscot, he said is there a 7-11 near by because I must buy a Google Play card for $250 first. I said I dont have that much money on my debit card. He kept saying the 250 will be reimbursed to me. He then critizied my felony record. I asked how does he know about that, and he said we are the federal government, we know everything. I told him this is not going to work and he is wasting my cell phone minutes. I hung up. This is a scam and others should be warned. They must be stopped.

The Scam: "Hello, I am looking for, or May I speak with, or Is this…" (They state my full name) Next, they say "I am calling from the United States Government Grant Department. Obama has set aside $9,000 in a reserved account for you, before he left the White House. In order for the money to be directly deposited into your account. You will have to pay $200 at a convenient store near you to receive your deposit.". (Examples they have told me: Walgreens and/or CVS pharmacy) They continue the scam with: "It is easy. All you have to do is call me back, at this number, when you get to the convenient store and follow my instructions. We will walk you through the entire process. It will only take you about 5 minutes. At that point, your money will be directly deposited into your account immediately within the next 10 minutes. Then, one of our account managers will call you back to confirm that you have recieved the funds into your account that Obama has left for you. It’s that simple.". Last but not least, their finale: "We already have your bank account and routing number on file or in our records. We just need you to confirm that this information we have for you is correct." (They stated my account and routing number)

I had to call my bank to let them know and I contacted ScamPulse.com (The ScamPulse.com), to report it. The scammers are a group of foreign men and foreign women. They call my cell phone at least 5 times a day. They also send random text messages. They stated my full account number, my full routing number, and my bank name. They have called me for the past two weeks. Their numbers, I have blocked on my phone. However, the scammers keep calling from multiple locations, and various numbers, throughout the United States.

He said that I was awarded a grant for $9700.00 to use any way I wanted and that I was one of 1700 people selected in my area based on taxes being paid on time without a bankruptcy or arrest in the past 6 months. He asked me if I wanted the grant money in cash or money order. I asked if I could have it in a cashier’s check but he said no, (big surprise), so I told him a money order would be fine. He said I needed to phone the Sr. Account Manager, Mr. Marco, at 914-292-0882 and give him my grant ID number, KJ0602. When I made the call Mr. Marco said that I needed to register with my home state, (Arizona), to receive the grant and that there would be a $200.00 processing fee. When I interrupted him to say that I had NO money he became angry and said that he was too busy to waste his time with someone who wouldn’t listen and must not want the money. He then hung up on me. Autumn –

Type of a scam Government Grant

Person called my personal cell number. Knew my name and said I was picked as a "loyal citizen" to receive a one time free grant. She asked me information, nothing that can’t be found on my Facebook page. She asked my age, and I asked her exactly who she was with, and all she needed was my age, and if I was employed. Then she gave me a number "AT407" and a call back number to talk to her "senior Acct Manager". So I was to hang up and call that number immediately. I called it because I couldn’t hear because of the high level of noise in the background. I called the number, and I swear it was the same woman in a little quieter room. I called her because I wanted to know who she was. I asked her and started googling her information, and she got a little excited. Anyway, I listen to her, give her back her number, then she tells me that I will need to go to a store like Walmart, CVS, Walgreens or any such store and get an electronic card. She wasn’t clear, but I supposed to load it with $250 then call her back at the number above (She said her name is Kelly Miller at 202-930-2236 Ext 101) give her some information and then I have to go to Western Union and fill out some stuff, which made no sense, and I would get $9,450 which was the loyalty free grant of $9,200 plus a refund of my $250 for the total. I told her I would have to go to Walmart, but I couldn’t go until after work at 4:30, so I was to call her at 5:30 her time with the electronic card info. Supposedly she has to give that number plus my "paperwork" then the government bank will send back all my information plus the codes I need to get my money from Western Union. Crazy. So anyway, I called my LifeLock account to make sure all my information was secure, and then came on here to report this scam.

No I did not purchase an ITune card and load it with $250, and no I do not believe that the US Government is giving out free money this way. They would send you a notification in the mail. They don’t need any of my information because I am a tax payer, so they have it. No, the government would not ask for me to pay a fee or whatever it was. Also, she was the far thus sounding Kelly Miller I have ever her. More like Kim Lee or someplace more Asian, like Korean or Japanese. I write and operate Federal Grants all the time. First you have to apply, and they don’t just pick random people. This is my fault. I was helping my brother on the internet, and this "Free Sample of Tide" popped up, and I said yes, then I was tossed into "survey hell" after which I got out of there immediately, but since my email has so many amounts of money I’ve won, and my phone kept ringing with people wanting to refinance my student loans and my mortgage. They are irritating. I zapped on one my phone and have been unsubscribing all week on my email. Lesson? Never say yes.

At 11:59am eastern time today, 2-23-17, I received a call from a California phone number 408-600-1337,(ext 144) telling me that I had been selected to be given a grant from the USA government, $9,000(exact number not recorded). Reason being, I have not filed for bankruptcy or had any government action taken against me within the last 6 months. They knew my info; address, email and phone… and kept trying to get me to say "yes" or "OK. To the best of my knowledge I did not say either. The caller’s name given was Anthony Foster. The caller had a very thick accent so I doubt that was his given name, and he really sounded like a she. I asked them to email me information ([email protected] the email they had for me) . After I said thank you and hung up on them, I called the number back,, what a surprise it was busy,, you know that rapid busy sound,, I called several times, same.

I received a similar call earlier in the week. It was not from the same number. They hung up when I asked who they were.

I received a phone call Saturday (11/26/16) stating I had been selected by the US government for a grant that was completely free. Would not have to pay it back. He said the government had randomly chose my name and number to receive $9000.00 without any obligations. He gave me a number that I had to call back (315) 875-7977. And told me to use the code MK414. I knew this was a scam and wanted to get as much information as possible. I dialed the number and told THAT gentleman that I was somewhat skeptical because if something sounds too good to be true, it normally is. He got very upset and hung up on me. I then called him back and said the language barrier was not my problem and I couldn’t understand why the government would have someone calling that I couldn’t even understand. He gave me the information and of course, at the end stated that I would have to pay $250 that would be fully refunded once that transfer the funds into my account or Western Union. However I prefer. I just don’t want someone to be scammed by this caller that would be trusting and/or naïve. As the same man called me again today. But the phone # came up as a "private number".

Type of a scam Government Grant

I received a call about 6 weeks ago from a Lady by the name of Maria Wilson from the United States Government Treasury department stating that i was chosen to receive a once in a life time Grant because i paid my taxes on time and didn’t have any felonies. All i had to do was them 250.00 to register my name in the government database. Once they received it and processed it, not only would I get my 7000$ grant but my 250$ fee as well. I then told her k wouldn’t have the money to the first of the month and she said to just call back when i had it. I was instructed to call, Maria Wilson at 315-221-3329 ex 107 and give them my grant approval reference number that was CH4019. I then told her that to please keep in mind, I am going through chemotherapy and don’t even make enough on disability to eat everyday. I told her that if this was a scam, please keep in mind that 250$ is a VERY large amount of money to me. She assured me she would never do something so cruel. Once the first arrived, i called her back, told her i had the money and that i was still so scared. she reassured me she was not that kind of person. She asked how I would like to receive my money; cash, check, or direct deposit. I told her i wanted cash; i was not about to give her my bank account numbers nor wait for a check in the mail. She then instructed me to go to Walgreen’s western union when i started to get more nervous. She said she would remain on the line with me until the money is in my hand. however the further the conversation went she started to pretend to lose service. When i got to the western union kiosk, she had me type in my info for sender and for receiver, Not only was it not the US GOVERNMENT, NOT IN NEW YORK, NOT EVEN MARIA WILSON she said the receiver would be a "Jaime Ruiz" in Miami Florida. I told her this was beginning to sound like a horrible scan and my health couldn’t take such a blow. She became irate and said I WAS WASTING HER TIME AND TO SEND THE MONEY NOW OR THEY WOULD SEND THE US MARSHALLS TO ARREST ME. Being so scared, already weakened from chemo, and desperately needing the 7000 for continued medical bills, I fell for it.

Received numerous phone calls especially from a man named Shaun Grant a few days ago who told me that my name was picked out of a database to received a grant of $6,700 and of course I was happy; than he gave me directions of how I am supposed to do to receive the grant which I thought was free since my name was chosen because I had paid my bills on time and I didn’t have any bankrupt. So, he told me after I wired meoney of $250 earlier that day by using a money gram to money gram and than afterwards to send $590 for their bank to transfer my supposedly grant money to my bank in the US from their bank in New York. We’ll, needless to say, I had sent and overall total of my own personal money of $543 money gram to money gram and than he told me that I should receive it within 30 minutes and I didn’t receive it at all after 4 or 5 days later and when I finally got in touch with him he than tells me that I want receive my money at all unless I sent $300 for the final payment for their bank to send the money to my bank. I am a very upset single mother of three and it hurts me because I am not working right now and I am unemployed and that was all I had; in order to take care of my three kids; and he and whoever is involved have taken away from my kids and myself as far as food in which I had to go to the pantry. I wanted to receive in which I thought would be a blessing but this was and still is tortured and I have been crying everyday because now my rent is past due and I thought Shaun would keep his word. And I am praying that justice will prevail and deliverance of anyone who can do a horrible heartless thing like this. Oh by the way his number is 1-631-319-0343 and that is if he answers. This has caused a hardship for me and my kids because we need our money to buy things and to live.
