My wife was online this morning looking up recipes. She received a pop up. All of a sudden the computer locked up. Loud beeping sound came on. In the corner there was a box that said computer is infected all immediately. 844-446-7333 When I called I spoke with Tony. He had a heavy accent. I asked the company name. He said it is US Connect Solutions. No address. They took control of the computer. We gave them our credit card number number. He asked for my mothers maiden name. I gave out. I am going to the bank to cancel the credit card. $199 to repair. The he wanted an additional $300 for three years of protection. They called me. My caller ID shows Smyrna, DE 302-508-8028.

Was setting up new computer. Screen flashed warnings of computer virus and froze computer. I called number indicated on screen. Was connected to someone with strong accent claiming my computer was being attacked by numerous people and they could eliminate virus if I would pay them $199. Asked for a lot of information. Unfortunately, I gave them my credit card and the last 6 digits of my social security number. I was able to call my credit card company and cancel card and delete $199 charge. I am now very concerned about what they can do with the other information I gave them. BEWARE when setting up new computer. I think that’s who they target.
