Type of a scam Employment
My friend was offered a position with this company as a project manager. They say they are an international shipping company from Switzerland, and that the main office is in New York. The only form of contact has been via email, no interview has been conducted, one phone call has been made from this person named Nicklos Jennings at 10:30pm eastern standard time. They have put her through a training for the last 3 weeks which has been only scriptures of the line of business and the company rules and regulations as far as the international shipping goes, and was recently asked to do a special project in which she had that opportunity to make an extra $500 towards the $5,000 training pay. The special project required her to purchase iPhone XR phones from her own secured credit card and shipped to a person in Hong Kong. When she emailed the man back he has responded back basically coercing her to pay on her card and they would be reimbursing her, however, per the company shipping regulations it does not coincide with any of what the company policies are. After this 4 week “training” is complete she was promised a check in the mail for $5,000 and then they will be sending her a plane ticket to New York to begin the job in which is going to be remote from her home here in Florida. My friend, along with myself and other family members have tried calling all the numbers we have been able to find and have never been able to get anyone on the phone. She has a masters degree in which they said they did a check on all her credentials and have offered her from the very first email 88,000 a year for this job. At this point after trying to search for all the proper info and contact someone who can possibly provide some insight, we have been unable to do so and are fearful that she may be getting scammed. Please help as they continue to send emails disregarding her concerns and continue discussing the finish training and flight to New York.
