Type of a scam Fake Check/Money Order
I was originally emailed by an official college student with information on this "Mystery Shopper Job" with Ultimate Survey Services. He claimed that it was safe and he made $300 a week. A friend and I signed up for the job and a couple of weeks later we were notified that we had received the job. I was sent a cashier’s check for $1900 in the mail along with instructions on what to do with it. The check was clearly fake and the instructions told me to buy 4 $400 BestBuy gift cards, and proceed to scratch off the cards and send clear pictures to the job provider. They also noted that if I were to complete this task within 48 hours of receiving the package I would be given a $100 bonus.
