Type of a scam Credit Repair/Debt Relief
I am sharing what happened to my elderly mother who is still able to live at home but suffers from dementia. She was called by this company and unfortunately ended up paying this debt relief company $1000 for paying off the only credit card that she utilized (Discover). They paid off her credit card by arranging a payoff with another credit card company. How is moving funds from one account to another helpful? I discovered this transaction when she received a new credit card and when checking for transactions on this new credit card. In my opinion they scammed her out of $1000 and did nothing in return for her. She herself is able to paid her Discover credit card off each month and was not in debt by any means so she had no need for any debt relief services. Telemarketing or soliciting of this type of service should be illegal. If someone needs assistance with their debt let them call you for help which in turn will prevent victimizing the elderly.
