The person calling me was very professional and, when I didn’t answer the phone, asked me to return the call. He knew my full name and birthday. He said someone signed a form saying I would appear in court on a given day. Because I didn’t appear, the court issued two citations, failure to appear and contempt of court. The costs for the two citations was $2500. He asked me to go to the federal courthouse to clear the matter up. He gave me a list of instructions, one of which was to go to Walmart and submit a pre-set retainer of $2500 which would be returned in full as soon as my signature was verified. I needed to do this right away and he would stay on the phone with me until I was in route to Walmart. When I said I didn’t trust him and would need to talk to my attorney before I went any farther, he hung up.
